City employee recognized; 4 ordinances amended

Grady Robinson, a two-year employee at Jackson City Hall, said he was shocked when he was told he would be featured in a video highlighting City of Jackson employees, during the City Council meeting, Tuesday.

“You get to know people and you learn a lot,” Robinson said, “If people treat you nice – I try to treat them as they treat me.”

Robinson works as a custodian at City Hall.

“Even when he’s not feeling well, you don’t even know he’s not feeling well until the next day,” said Scott Conger, mayor of Jackson, “That’s just the kind of person he is … he’s a joy to work with and to be around.

“He does a fantastic job.”

During the City Council’s monthly meeting, members voted on four Second Readings.

They approved considerations of ordinances to amend –

The 2019 Byrne Jag Grant Budget – $43,095 – for the Jackson Police Department.
The Metro Drug Fund Budget – $66,050 in drug seizures – for the Jackson Police Department.
The Capital Outlay Fund Budget for the 7 Pillars Monument in Shirlene Mercer Park with a donation of $5,000 from an individual outside the city.
The Capital Outlay Fund Budget – $37,000 – for the Jackson Fire Department.
