From the Madison County Sheriff’s Office –
Madison County Sheriff John Mehr confirms an altercation occurred this morning at approximately 7:15 at Liberty Tech High School.
SRO’s were advised that a woman with green hair had entered the school without signing in and was heading upstairs. Deputies immediately went to the second floor and observed multiple individuals fighting, that the school staff were trying to separate.
Deputies learned that the woman with green hair was a parent and later identified her as LaToya D. Boyd.
Upon further investigation it was determined Mrs. Boyd had gone upstairs and directed a student to whip another student, who was nearby. The student she spoke to subsequently attacked another student who was nearby. A male student who was watching, Â also assaulted the victim and a school administrator, who was attempting to break up the fight.
Deputies also learned that LaToya Boyd stomped the victim during the assault.
Deputies arrested LaToya Boyd as she tried to leave the school.
Warrants for burglary, assault, disorderly conduct, child abuse and neglect, reckless endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor will be sought against LaToya Boyd.
