Tommy Dean took it literally when Keith Sherley, an on-air personality at NEWS/TALK 101.5, made a simple request for what he would like to receive for Christmas.
During ‘The Afternoon Show,’ on Wednesday, Keith was remembering the loss of his daughter Cristal, who passed away December 2018, and said some banana pudding would be nice for the holiday, and less than 24 hours later – Santa Claus showed up.
‘Our 101.5 FM family is truly a family … and our listeners are part of the family – and families help each other. I just want to thank Tommy and Tenley (Allen). They just heard how much I wanted banana pudding for the holidays, and they made it the old-fashioned way and dropped it by – just like family does.”
Locals will remember Tommy, a retired teacher and coach – volleyball – at South Side High School.
“I was listening to Keith’s show, Wednesday, and he was down in the dumps,” Tommy Dean said, “He said what he would really like for Christmas was a good banana pudding … I make the best, and I made him one.”
Tenley Allen, Tommy’s granddaughter, is a third grader at Trinity Christian Academy.
