JACKSON Tenn (May 7, 2015) – Madison County Firefighter Chris Blankenship was laid to rest with full honors. Family, friends, and others whose lives had been touched by him all came to say farewell.
Here are a few scenes from the Memorial Service for “a Fireman’s Firefighter” Chris Blankenship.
Madison County Fire Chief Eric Turner has been one of those deeply saddened by the loss. Turner said Blankenship’s death is a loss that is being felt throughout the fire department, and he is grateful for the way the community has reached out.
Blankenship died early Sunday, May 3 when he responded to a motor vehicle fire. While extinguishing the fire a tree fell and pinned him causing fatal injuries. Blankenship was a volunteer with Madison County Fire Department Station No. 2.
