The Jackson-Madison County Health Department Receives Top Honors

 

MADISON Co. Tenn (April 23, 2015) – Regional Hospital Coordinator Trent Harris said on Thursday the Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department has been recognized by the National Association of County and City Health Officials for its ability to plan for respond to recover from public-health emergencies.

“The emergency response team that we have here Jackson-Madison County Health Department are to be commended for their dedication foresight and determination to make Madison County has disaster ready as possible to” said Health Department Dir. Tony Emison “The success and recognition is to be shared with many local agencies work closely with us in preparation for the many possible events we try to prepare for.”

To be considered for this designation, Harris said, Jackson-Madison County Health Department demonstrated capabilities by meeting the comprehensive preparedness benchmarks required Project Public Health Ready.

“This recognition confirms there is a thorough and coordinated emergency response plan in place and that the staff have the training to protect the health of the community during an emergency” said Tennessee Department of Health Commissioner John Dreyzehner.

The County Health Department joins an elite group of less than 15% of Health Departments across the country that have been distinguished for excellence in preparedness through Project Public Health Ready.
