Golden sentenced 30 years for rape of a child

On February 25, 2019, the Madison County, Tennessee Grand Jury indicted Kelvin Dewayne Golden, 22 years of age, of Jackson, for two counts of Rape of a Child and one count of Soliciting Rape of a Child.

On May 14, 2019, the Defendant was convicted of Rape of (a) Child and on June 4, 2019, he was sentenced to serve 30 years without parole in the Tennessee Department of Correction by Circuit Court Judge Roy B. Morgan, Jr.

The Defendant was previously convicted on 5/30/18 by a Madison County, Tennessee Jury of Aggravated Sexual Battery and was sentenced to serve 10 years with no parole in the Tennessee Department of Correction.

“This sentence illustrates the seriousness and vigor with which these cases are investigated and prosecuted in the 26th Judicial District. With this sentence a violent offender has been removed from our community.

Let this sentence serve as a notice to those that would scheme to prey upon some of the most vulnerable among us that they will eventually be caught and they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

The cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney General Lee Sparks and investigated by Lieutenant Danielle Jones and Sgt. Jay Stanfill of the Jackson Police Department.
