Mayor-elect Scott Conger will be sworn in Monday in a private ceremony in the Mayor’s office, which will enable him to conduct official business as mayor prior to the council meeting, Tuesday.
The newly elected city council members will be sworn in prior to the monthly city council meeting at City Hall at 9 a.m., Tuesday.
City Judge Blake Anderson will officiate the swearing-in ceremony.
The new council was elected for a four-year term.
The new council members are Ernest Brooks II, Harvey Buchanan, David Cisco, Johnny Dodd, Russ McKelvey, Gary Pickens, Ross Priddy, Paul Taylor and Marda Wallace.
A reception will be held from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m., in the lobby of City Hall, Tuesday.
The public is invited.
