The number of ballots cast totaled 604 in Early Voting, today, in a runoff to select Scott Conger or Jerry Woods as the next Mayor of Jackson.
The number votes for the first five days of Early Voting is 4,395.
Compare these numbers to the first six days of Early Voting in April for the May 7 Election – 487 voted April 24, which brought the total to 2,828.
Conger and Woods received the majority of the votes in the May 7 Election, but neither had the necessary 50 percent, plus-one to win the race outright.
The number of votes cast on the fifth day of Early Voting in the May Election was 434, which brought the total for Early Voting to 2,341.
Voters registered in the City of Jackson can cast early ballots weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 9 a.m. to Noon, Saturdays, through Thursday, June 13.
Election Day is June 18.
In order to vote, a photo ID issued by the State of Tennessee or the U.S. Government must be presented.
