Child Abuse Center receives $56,250 from Andrew Jackson Marathon

The benefits of the 47th running of the Andrew Jackson Marathon extended to the Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse at the Jackson Chamber, Wednesday.

Pam Nash, president/CEO of the Center, accepted a ‘BIG’ check for $56,250 from proceeds from the 26.2 mile and 13.1 races.

“I have seen (marathon) grow over the years,” Nash said, “We truly appreciate what the marathon volunteers have done, because on behalf of the kids we serve, we could not do it without them. They work so hard and make such a difference in the lives of our children, and for that, I am very, very appreciative.”

Danny Crossett, a director of the Andrew Jackson Marathon and co-owner of Fleet Feet, 398 Oil Well Road, presented the BIG check.

“The center has always been a good supporter of the community,” Crossett said, “The race this year was very successful, and we’re happy to give this check to the Center for the prevention of child abuse services.”
