One week after debuting his new album ‘American Highway,’ singer/songwriter Marty Brown makes an appearance with his band at the Blacksmith, 216 North Shannon Street, at 6 p.m., today.

American Highway is the Kentucky native’s first album release in 25 years.

He co-wrote all 10 cuts, one with son Marty Jr. – ‘I’m on a Roll (Better than it’s ever been)’ and the first single from the album, ‘Umbrella Lovers,’ is available now.

Some of his work has found its way into the hands of other artists, including the hit song ‘I’m from the Country,’ which is performed by Tracy Byrd.
