It may have been Election Day, but the Jackson City Council held its monthly meeting at Jackson City Hall, Tuesday.
Highlighting the meeting was an ordinance to amend the animal control ordinance for the City of Jackson, which passed 7-2.

“Animals that have not been spayed or neutered will be taken in (and) if they are owned by individuals, they will have the opportunity to have them spayed or neutered, if they don’t, there will be a $20 permit they will have to buy, and if it is still not done they will end up in environmental court.”
A unanimous vote approved the rezoning of property located at 2391 Christmasville Cove from Single Family Residential to Planned Commercial Development comprising of about 11.8 acres.
The City Council also approved an ordinance to rezone property located at 2192 Hollywood Drive from Highway Business to Agriculture and Open Land, comprising of about .427 acres.
