JACKSON, Tenn (April 2, 2015) – A multi-agency task force made up of West Tennessee Drug Task Force, Jackson Madison-County Metro-Narcotics, Madison County Sheriff’s Department, and the Jackson Police Department arrested seven people Thursday in an early morning round-up on federal drug trafficking charges.
According to US Attorney Edward Stanton, Thursday morning’s arrests are the result of a year-long investigation in which law enforcement officials have seized kilograms of cocaine and/or crack cocaine.
A federal grand jury in Jackson, TN returned the indictments on March 23, 2015, but they remained under seal until Thursday’s arrests.
Each indictment contained counts alleging violations of the Controlled Substances Act.
The suspects arrested during the operation were:
- Omar Ramirez,45, of Madison County
- Lee Patterson, 43, of Madison County
- Patrick Williamson, 40, of Madison County
- Santayan Deon Mayberry, 38, of Madison County
- Sharn Milan, 35, of Madison County (already in federal custody)
- Charles Miller, 40, of Gibson County
- Armondo Orta, 47, of Madison County
The charges in the indictment stem from the defendants’ alleged participation in a conspiracy to distribute and to possess cocaine and crack cocaine.
Law enforcement officials seized over three kilos of cocaine, six ounces of crack cocaine, over $180,000 in cash and 10 vehicles in the round-up.
Other agencies include special agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Marshals Service, Department of Homeland Security, Immigration Customs and Enforcement, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and state and law enforcement officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Tennessee Highway Patrol
