Morris Merriweather letter – ‘An advocate of all children regardless of zip code’

Response by Morris Merriweather to an email sent by Cathy Vinson, in support of Dr. Eric Jones, Superintendent of Jackson-Madison County Schools – unedited.

Dear Mrs. Vinson,

Yes, I know you were on the county payroll for a long time as well as your husband Billy who now works in purchasing at the finance office.

It is hard for me to believe that you are not extremely bias since your daughter Amanda works at Pope and your son in law Ryan Kirkbride works in the central office. If they will resign, which I am thinking I will call for at the next board meeting, I will be the first to listen to your advice.

I am so glad most of us on the board are now considering all the children of all parts of the county, not just those privileged living out north. I know plenty of people who wish their family was on public payroll like yours.

I did not mean to slight you other daughter on the county payroll, Elizabeth who works at the election commission office.

No question, you have a very bias interest.

All those county payroll checks to one family deserves an investigation.

Have a great day.
