Cornelia Hall Tiller is the Jackson Rotary Club’s 2018 Woman of the Year.
She was presented the award when the 67th annual event was held at Clayton Hall at First United Methodist Church, Wednesday.
While her accomplishments are numerous, locals probably recognize her for her volunteer work with Aspell Recovery Center and the Jackson Area Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency – JACOA.
“I’m certainly thrilled, but I’m also surprised so many people can keep a secret,” Cornelia said, laughing, “My daughter (Susie Alexander) took me, but she told me she was going to take me to lunch at Chandelier.”
Cornelia said Susie had a Plan B after ‘remembering’ Chandelier Cafe’ was not open for lunch.
“She told me her husband (Chris) said there was going to be a good speaker (at Rotary),” Cornelia said, “It was a lot of fun.”
