Virginia Tucker Dorris (1961 – 2015)
Virginia Tucker Dorris, age 53, died on Monday, March 23, 2015.She was born in Jackson, TN on April 16, 1961, the daughter of Fred H. and Dovie Elizabeth Davis Tucker. She grew up in the Mifflin, TN, graduated from Chester County High School, class of 79, and was a former member of the Beech Bluff United Methodist Church. She was also a graduate of Memphis State Tech and was employed as a teller with the Bank of Jackson for fifteen years. She was currently a student at Jackson State Community College, pursing her nursing degree, something she was very proud of.
If there was one thing that Virginia enjoyed, it was music. Her voice was astounding, yet very unique. She made sure she spread her joy and passion of music to her children, and she pushed them to use their talent as well. One of her last musical debuts was singing in the choir at First United Methodist in Lexington, under the direction of her son Beau. There was never a day that went by where she was not singing a song, no matter where she was. She went above and beyond to always reach a helping hand to all of those around her. Her friends and family have been blessed to have known her and been a part of her life.
Along with her parents, she is survived by her children, Beau Sage and wife Rebecca of Jackson, TN, Skylar Sage and Scarlett Sage, both of Oxford, MS; two brothers, Paul and Michael Tucker, both of Mifflin, TN.
