The Franklin Police Department sent a statement to media on Thursday saying they had arrested two men accused of breaking into a home and taking items including a pink purse with the cremated remains Whitney Tuck, who died in 2005 at age 19 from leukemia. The statement says the suspects threw the purse into a trash can at a gas station.

The statement says officers have search exhaustively, but haven’t been able to find the purse.

Whitney’s father, Joel Tuck, says he is “heartbroken” and just wants his daughter’s remains back.

Police are asking the public’s help in locating the purse, and Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information.
