The Board of Directors at the Jackson Energy Authority authorized the purchase of service bodies for new vehicles, and approved a resolution to execute a Master Services Agreement for Adaptive Bit Rate Video and Headend Processing with Gibson Connect, LLC, during its November meeting, Tuesday.
The Board, which authorized a resolution to purchase 12 new vehicles during its October meeting, approved the purchase of seven service bodies at a cost of $61,962.70, from Utility Equipment Services of Spring Hill.
Bids were received from Reading Truck Equipment in Nashville, and Dynamic Machinery in Jackson.
Bids were also sent to Knapheide Truck Equipment in Birmingham, Ala., but the company did not respond.
Gibson Connect LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gibson Electric Membership Cooperation, that provides Internet and telephone services over their fiber optic network, desires to add video to their service offering.
“We approved … service bodies for the vehicles,” Jim Ferrell said, “This will store tools and materials for some of the vehicles we purchased last month, and we approved a contract for an agreement with Gibson County Electric to provide them cable TV signals from our headend facility.”
