After 33 percent of the registered voters in Madison County cast early ballots, it’s highly possible a new record could be set after votes have been counted, today.
“The numbers have been heavy, and our phones have not stopped ringing,” said Kim Buckley, administrator of elections, “Some people are showing up to vote who have not registered, or they have forgotten where they vote.
“Some are also registered to vote in another county.”
There are 59,514 registered voters in Madison County, and the polls close at 7 p.m., today.
