After purchasing the Greyhound Bus Station, John Allen – John H. Allen Company Inc. – said he will begin restoration on the exterior of the building.
Allen purchased the 5,000-square-foot facility at 407 East Main Street from Doris Hollowell for $319,000.
The Jackson station was built in 1938 by Hubert Owens Construction Company, and continued to function as a Greyhound bus depot until Sept. 29.
The Jackson station is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Greyhound is now conducting business at Mega Mart, a convenience store at 1400 Highway 70 East.
