An emergency worker who is on the scene told Brownsville Radio this morning that the wreck between a tractor-trailer truck and a van on I-40 looks like “an explosion.”
About 5:30 a.m. today three Haywood County ambulances and other rescuers were at the wreck. EMS was also landing helicopters to help transport the injured.
The smash-up is in the eastbound lane near the scales in Haywood County. The eastbound lane is closed.
Unofficial reports say a van flipped over and then was hit by a tractor-trailer truck. Early reports are that 5 people were injured.
