Man, 28, charged with assaulting woman, 92, in Memphis
The Associated Press, relying on information provided by police in a court affidavit, reported erroneously the nature of the relationship between the man and woman. Memphis police now say that Thomas Standley was Willie Frances Robinson’s caregiver, not her live-in boyfriend.

Man, 28, accused of choking, violently shaking 92-year-old woman in Memphis duplex
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Police say a 28-year-old caregiver has been charged with assaulting a 92-year-old woman in a Memphis duplex.
Police documents show Thomas Standley was arrested after an altercation with Willie Frances Robinson on Tuesday night.
In an affidavit, police initially described Standley as Robinson’s live-in boyfriend and roommate. Police have amended the affidavit, saying now that he is her caregiver.
Police said Robinson’s daughter, who lives next door, heard her mother tell Standley, “Let go of me, you’re hurting me.” When Patricia Haynes went to check on her mother, police said Standley pushed Haynes out the front door.
Robinson told officers Standley choked her and shook her violently because she didn’t want to take her medicine. She refused medical treatment.
Standley was being held in jail. Online court records do not show if he has a lawyer to comment on the charges.
