Hot Spot Convenience Store denied permit (again) by Beer Board

The Jackson Beer Board denied a request of a beer permit for the wife of Adhabah M. Annamer, who owns the Hot Spot Market at 1291 North Highland Avenue, during its monthly meeting at the City Council Chambers, Tuesday.

The request was the third.

Adhabah M. Annamer, who was convicted of selling beer illegally in August 2014, also served four years following his conviction of arson, in California, Dec. 9, 1988.

When he purchased his store at 1291 North Highland Avenue, he was purchasing beer from a wholesaler while using the permit that was issued to the previous store owner.

During Tuesday’s meeting, Annamer told the Beer Board his wife would manage the convenience store, and that he would be an employee.

The Beer Board approved a request from Brad Davis for a special occasion permit to sell, store and serve during the Quality Deer Management Association’s second annual event at the Jackson Fairgrounds.
