Ryan Rolison pitched two complete innings, and allowed one hit, and one earned run in his first outing in professional baseball, against the Billings (Montana) Mustangs, Tuesday.
A member of the Grand Junction (Colorado) Rockies of the Pioneer League, the left-handed pitcher faced seven hitters and threw 28 pitches – 21 strikes.
Rolison, a 2016 graduate of the University School of Jackson, who played collegiately at Ole Miss, was selected with the 22nd pick overall in the first round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies, and assigned to the parent club’s Rookie League affiliate in Colorado.
