TCA Hires Drew Hayes as an Assistant Coach

The following is a statement from Ken Northcut, Athletic Director of Trinity Christian Academy, on the hiring of former professional baseball player Drew Hayes at TCA.

“It is of great honor and delight that we announce Drew Hayes will be joining the TCA staff as an English teacher and assistant football and assistant baseball coach.  Coach Hayes comes to this position as a proven winner. He holds an English degree from Vanderbilt University where he pitched for the nationally ranked Commodore baseball team.  He then spent 7 years playing professional baseball for the Cincinnati Reds organization as a pitcher.  Coach Hayes prepped his high school career at McKenzie High School where he was awarded Mr. Football and Mr. Baseball for the state of Tennessee during his senior year (2005-2006).  He played a crucial part in McKenzie 2006 State Championship baseball team.

Some of his achievements include 2008-2009 Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll.  In 2011, he was awarded the Cincinnati Reds Minor League Community Service Award.  He has also served as a volunteer coach for McKenzie High School football and baseball teams during the off season.

Not only are we getting a coach with outstanding credentials, but more importantly we are getting a man of great integrity that has a passion for what we believe is just as important as winning on the athletic field and that is “training young champions for Christ.”

We here at TCA are excited and we look forward to the great opportunities that lie ahead.”
