Reports that circulated about a lockdown at Scotts Hill High School are incorrect according to Beverly Ivy, the school’s principal.
Ivy said there was a report posted on social media about a possible problem at SHS, which turned out to be Sanford High School in Maine.
(NOTE: WNWS.COM found that no problems existed with the threat in Sanford, Maine)
Ivy said precaution at Scotts Hill High School was taken, and the Henderson County Sheriff’s department was notified.
All schools in Union City and Obion County are on what is described as a soft lockdown, while officers and deputies of the Obion County Sheriff’s department conduct are doing safety checks.
Lesa Scillion, with the Obion County Board of Education, said a threat was made against the schools on social media Wednesday evening.
“There was a threat found on social media, and our lockdown is precautionary,” Scillion said.
