In a matter of about an hour, ticket sales for a concert featuring Hip Hop Star Nelly, who appears at The Ballpark at Jackson, April 27, topped the 3,000 mark.
Nick Hall, general manager of the Jackson Generals, the primary tenant at The Ballpark at Jackson, was ecstatic about the sales.
“It’s been absurd, ridiculous … ridiculous in a good way,” Hall said. “It is very possible there won’t be any tickets available at the end of (Friday).”
The majority of tickets – 6,000, which is the number of seats in the stadium – are priced at $34.
Tickets priced at $39 (number not known), are for standing room only on the infield, and 800 tickets are selling for $69 for the pit or center stage area, where Nelly will perform. The stage will be located at second base.
6,000 tickets sold at $34 will gross $204,000
1,000 tickets (estimate) sold at $39 will gross $39,000
800 tickets sold at $69 will gross $55,200
Ticket sales alone would gross $298,200
Nelly will appear with special guests Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Juvenile.
