(December 14, 2104) JACKSON Tenn — After several West Tennessee Regional Jackson YMCA employees payroll checks were returned the YMCA Board of Directors released a statement.
The statement read, “The YMCA of Jackson and West Tennessee, like many not-for-profit organizations th(r)ough out the country is still feeling the effects of the economic downturn and is facing financial challenges.”
Board’s statement stated they understand that checks have been returned and are committed to rectifying the situation as soon as possible.
According to the press release, membership and donations have decreased over the past year and pledges from Captial Campaigns are still outstanding.
As a result, we are continuing to evaluate day to day operational expenses and planning to reorganize.
