12-year-old Boy Fatally Shot in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) – Police in Savannah are investigating the shooting death of a 12-year-old boy.

This is the third shooting in Savannah involving a child and the second fatality in a week.

Savannah-Chatham police spokesman Julian Miller said in a statement that Keith Passmore was pronounced dead at Memorial University Medical Center after being shot Saturday night.

Miller says authorities believe the shooting happened at a party with roughly 30 people in attendance. Details on the circumstances that led to the shooting weren’t immediately available. Police are asking anyone who may have been there to contact the department.

Savannah police last week also said they were investigating the shooting of a 6-year-old boy during a domestic dispute, and the fatal shooting of a 2-year-old girl who was wounded when someone fired from outside her family’s apartment as she slept on a couch.
