Three convenient locations throughout Jackson have been designated for those wishing to discard Christmas trees.
Two locations are in North Jackson – Stonebridge of Liberty Garden and North Park off North Highland Avenue, in the first parking lot as you enter the park.
A South Jackson drop-off is located at 720 S. Highland Ave., at the Jackson City Fire Department Administrative Office in front of the Jackson Fairgrounds.
Live Christmas trees will be accepted at these locations through January 10.
Also, if you want the City to pick up your discarded Christmas tree, please call 425-8578.
Place the tree at the curb, and the City trucks will be collecting for the Chipping of the Green, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Fire Training Station, 720 S. Highland Ave., January 13.
(You will be able to bring a Christmas tree to the Chipping of the Green on January 13)
Keep Jackson Beautiful Members and Master Gardener volunteers will provide the manpower to turn discarded trees into wood chips – perfect for garden pathways or for composting.
The wood chips will be bagged and available for pickup by the public at no charge on the day of the chipping.
Only live trees are accepted. Lights and ornaments should be removed so that trees can be fed through the chipping machine.
