Following a ribbon cutting, Hucks Food & Fuel opened its first of two convenience stores in Jackson at 1295 Union University Drive in Thomsen Farms, today.

Located behind First Citizens National Bank, the convenience store consists of 4,050-square-feet of shopping and will offer 16 fuel pumps.

“We’re excited to be in Jackson,” said Shon Parker, a division manager with Hucks. “We’re more of a food store … about anything you could imagine.”

With corporate offices in Carmi, Illinois, Hucks has grown to 120 convenience stores.

The Thomsen Farms location has 30 employees and the store is 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Parker said a second Hucks location at 7 Ridgecrest Rd. (corner of North Highland and Ridgecrest Road) is scheduled to open in late January, 2018.
