JACKSON, Tenn — On Thursday the University of Memphis at Lambuth hosted a hire a veterans event.

Across the state, sponsors participated in an annual job fair called Paychecks for Patriots. The event is part of Governor Haslam’s effort to promote veterans job skills gained in the military

The intention is to encourage companies to hire veterans. West Tennessee employers including many from Jackson participated in the event
