Following a bidding process, Jackson Energy Authority will purchase 17 new vehicles that will meet the Authority’s specifications.
Bids were received from Lonnie Cobb Ford, Homer Skelton Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Helms Motor Company, Humboldt Chrysler Dodge Jeep, and Serra Chevrolet.
Vendors receiving – but declining to bid – were Golden Circle Ford, Alan Vines Automotive, and Tim Castellaw Ford.
The bids were reviewed for completeness and adherence to bid specifications.
The specifications covered seven types of vehicles to be purchased:
· ½-ton extended cab truck with two-wheel drive (quantity of one)
· ½-ton extended cab truck with four-wheel drive (quantity of one)
· ½-ton regular cab truck with two-wheel drive (quantity of three)
· ¾-ton high roof cargo vans with two-wheel drive (quantity of three)
· ¾-ton extended cab & chassis with four-wheel drive (quantity of four)
· 1-ton diesel crew cab & chassis, dual rear wheels, with four-wheel drive (quantity of four)
· ¾-ton extended cab & chassis with two-wheel drive and CNG service body installed (quantity or one).
· ½-ton extended cab truck with two-wheel drive (quantity of one)
· ½-ton extended cab truck with four-wheel drive (quantity of one)
· ½-ton regular cab truck with two-wheel drive (quantity of three)
· ¾-ton high roof cargo vans with two-wheel drive (quantity of three)
· ¾-ton extended cab & chassis with four-wheel drive (quantity of four)
· 1-ton diesel crew cab & chassis, dual rear wheels, with four-wheel drive (quantity of four)
· ¾-ton extended cab & chassis with two-wheel drive and CNG service body installed (quantity or one).
All specifications called for 2018 models.
Most of the existing vehicles being replaced will be auctioned at a later date. Two of the high roof vans are additions to the fleet (Telecom Division).
Eight vehicles totaling $191,794.00 will be purchased from Homer Skelton Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Millington.
The inventory consists of one (1) ½-ton extended cab 2WD pickup for $23,453.00, one (1) ½-ton extended cab 4WD pickup for $26,705.00, three (3) ½-ton regular cab 2WD pickups for $67,089.00, and three (3) ¾-ton high roof cargo vans for $74,547.00 meeting the Authority’s specifications and as verified by the submitted bid.
The Board approved the purchase of nine vehicles totaling $353,629.00 from Lonnie Cobb Ford of Henderson.
The inventory consists of four (4) ¾-ton 4WD extended cab & chassis for 117,948.00, four (4) 1-ton diesel 4WD crew cab & chassis with dual rear wheels for $190,128.00, and one (1) ¾-ton 2WD extended cab & chassis with a CNG service body installed for $45,553.00 meeting the Authority’s specifications and as verified by the submitted bid.
