JACKSONĀ TennĀ — Madison County Sheriff Deputy Lt. Sylvia Anderson was terminated Monday afternoon for alleged gross misconduct.
Madison County Sheriff John Mehr tells WNWS that a criminal investigation was a factor in the decision. No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made. According to Sheriff Mehr the investigation is ongoing.
Earlier this year Lt. Sylvia Anderson testified in the David Woolfork trial. Anderson testifies regarding phone calls she received from MCSD Deputy Sharon Sangster.Ā Woolfork was found not guilty on all counts. Woolfork had already retired as Sheriff.
Lieutenant Anderson began her employment with MCSD in July 2003. In April 2010, she was promoted from deputy to sergeant at the Criminal Justice Complex.Ā March 2013 Sergeant Sylvia D. Anderson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant at the Criminal Justice Complex.
