Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson introduced new faculty members at the annual faculty-staff conference.
- Dr. Jared Collins, who received his bachelor’s degree from FHU in 2008, has returned to the university and his hometown as an assistant professor of mathematics, according to a news release. Collins also holds an M.S. and a Ph.D. from the University of Memphis.
- Dr. James Dalton has joined the faculty as an assistant professor of counseling. He holds a B.A. and an M.S. from FHU and a Ph.D. from Regent University.
- Dr. Alan Kinningham is an assistant professor of music. He had been an adjunct member of the faculty. His degrees include a B.S. from the University of Tennessee at Martin, an M.M. from Texas A&M University and a D.M.A. from the University of Memphis.
- Jud Davis, formerly director of the university’s marketing and university relations office, has joined the faculty as an instructor in the Department of Fine Arts. A 1991 graduate of FHU, Davis also holds an M.S. from Auburn University and an M.F.A. from Savannah College of Art and Design.
- Martin Klamm, a missionary to the Caribbean island of Bon Aire, has been named this year’s missionary-in-residence. He holds two bachelor degrees and an M.Min. from Freed-Hardeman.
- In addition, eight others were named adjunct faculty. They include David Baker, lecturer in Bible; Susan Binkley, lecturer in French; Ashley Deffenbaugh, lecturer in business; Kimberly Emery, lecturer in business; Rebecca Rhea, lecturer in communication; Laurie Tucker, lecturer in chemistry; Dan Wade, lecturer in business; and Jeremy Weekly, lecturer in communication.
FHU began the fall semester on Wednesday with the traditional tolling of the bell.
