17-year-old Austin Drummond, of Jackson, was convicted on Wednesday for committing a 2013 convenience store armed robbery in Jackson.
Following a trial in Madison County Circuit Court, Division I, the jury deliberated for a little less than an hour before finding Drummond guilty of aggravated robbery.
Drummond will be held at the Madison County Jail pending sentencing at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 26 in Circuit Court.
On July 31, 2013 around 12:30 a.m., the Circle K at 3162 N. Highland Ave. was robbed at gunpoint.
The investigation by Jackson police revealed that Drummond, who was then 16, committed the armed robbery and then fled on foot.
Drummond was arrested Aug. 21, 2013 in Daytona Beach, FL and was transported back to Jackson.
After a transfer hearing in Madison County Juvenile Court, Judge Christy Little ruled that Drummond could be tried as an adult.
