Jackson TN – On Thursday voters cast ballots in the State Primary and County General Election

It was a very successful night for the local Republican party.  Republicans now hold all of the county wide elected offices and 18 of 25 County Commission seats.  Republicans also had success in the Circuit Court Division 3 Judges race.  (R) Kyle Atkins defeated incumbent (I) Nathan Pride.

Newcomers to public office include: Savannah Williamson who defeated Gary Tippet and Larry Sipes defeated Aaron Ellison both in county commission races. Harold Petty won a seat in a newly created district.  John Mehr defeated Rick Staples for the office of Sheriff.
