(March 7, 2014) Jackson, Tenn.- The Jackson Symphony is having another musical weekend as they play their final pops concert of the year.
The concert, titled "Movies at the Pops," will bring music from the silver screen to the audience.
Selections include music from Porgy and Bess, My Fair Lady, Chariots of Fire, and a medely of James Bond music.
The program begins at 7:30PM at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Downtown Jackson. Tickets are still available.
The concert will be directed by Peter Shannon, one of the three hopefuls for the Director of Music position.
Shannon, along with Charles Latshaw and Matther Kraemer, will have conducted one classical music concert, one educational concert, and one pops concert.
After the concert on Saturday, the committee will decide on a recommendation to take to the board, who will make their decision and announce the result on April 12.
For more music this weekend, The Jackson Youth Orchestra will perform at First Baptist Church in Jackson at 3PM.
