(February 11, 2014) Memphis, Tenn.- The National Weather Service in Memphis is issuing a Winter Weather Advisory for multiple counties.
Winter weather is expected across West Tennessee and Northeast Mississippi.
The advisory begins at 6PM on Tuesday night and continues until 6PM on Wednesday night.
They are expecting mostly snow to move up across Mississippi into portions of Southwest Tennessee after Midnight.
The counties affected by the Winter Weather Advisory are Lafayette, Carroll, Benton, Haywood, Madison, Henderson, Decatur, and Fayette Counties.
The snow accumulations are expected 1 to 3 inches with minimal amounts of sleet early this evening through Wednesday evening.
According to the National Weather Service, Winter Weather Advisories for snow means that, “periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties.” They advise you prepare for snow covered roads and limited visibility.
