   A one-car wreck that occurred near 6074 Tibbs Road in Haywood County Thursday morning took the life of Candelaro Hernandez Gomez.  Gomez, who has a Jackson, Tennessee, address was 27 years of age.

 

   The highway patrol’s report states that Gomez was northbound in his 2002 Chevy S14 when he left the road and hit at least two trees. His car was overturned and he was trapped in the vehicle when EMS arrived on the scene. Early responders said Gomez was dead at the scene.

 

   The THP’s report states the trooper thinks speed was a factor in the crash.  The wreck occurred about the time snow flurries were occurring, but the trooper’s report doesn’t comment about icy roads.

 

   Gomez is the second fatality reported this week. Thomas Latham died after a crash New Year’s Eve in Brownsville.
