Man Faces Charges for Molesting Three-Year-Old Child
Jackson police have arrested Stephen Wilcox, 43, of Morristown, in connection with molesting a three year-old child. On Friday around 11:30 p.m. Jackson police received a call to an apartment in Lincoln Courts. The investigation has shown that a three-year-old girl had briefly been left in the care of Wilcox who is a family member. Her parents returned home and found Wilcox completely naked in the bed with the child and the child was unclothed from the waist down. The child’s father was able to momentarily detain Wilcox before he got away, following a brief struggle.
Wilcox was arrested Saturday afternoon. He was arraigned in Madison County General Sessions Court Monday morning on an unrelated violation of probation. He is scheduled to be formally arraigned in Jackson City Court Tuesday at 8 a.m. on a charge of Attempt to Commit Aggravated Rape of a Child.
The Department of Children’s Services is assisting in the investigation.
