Carl Randle, Jr., 18, of Jackson, was taken into custody around 10:45 this morning. He surrendered to the Jackson Police Department Gang Unit and Patrol Division in the area of Lincoln Courts and Labelle Street. He faces charges of Attempted Murder. He is scheduled to be formally arraigned Monday at 8 a.m. in Jackson City Court.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday, Jackson Police received a call of a shooting in Lincoln Courts near the 100 building. A 23-year-old Parsons man was transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
The investigation has determined that the shooting victim and his wife were visiting her family in Lincoln Courts. The victim had an argument over the phone with an acquaintance, Carl Randle, Jr. The victim and his wife were
walking from their car to an apartment in the 100 building when Randle approached the man, pointed a gun at him and confronted him about the earlier argument. The man turned to run away and Randle shot him. He suffered a single gunshot wound to the buttock.
