(April 2, 2014) Jackson Tenn – HazMat and Fire Department officials were on the scene of a two vehicle accident late Wednesday afternoon
An accident involving an 18-wheeler and a small commercial truck caused a fuel spill when the 18-wheeler's saddle tanks ruptured.
According to EMA Director Marty Clements approximately 30 gallons of fuel was spilled including 10 gallons which went down a storm drain. An absorbent product was put down to clean up oil and fuel on the ground. The storm drain was flushed and vacuumed out.
Clements says the spill will be cleaned up and that other than the traffic tie up there is no consequence to the community.
