On Friday, January 10, 2014, shortly before 4:30 p.m. the Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a call of theft of property of a motor vehicle at 445 New Deal Road, Jackson, TN.
The investigation revealed that a witness observed a male and a female at the residence in a red pickup truck with a sign on the side of the truck that said “Clean Up.”
On Tuesday, January 14, 2014, deputies observed the red truck that fit the description in the vicinity of Hwy. 70 East.
Occupants Michael A. Stoltz age 40, of 4525 Hwy. 104 No., Cedar Grove, TN and Mendy Faith Reese, age 40, of 4525 Hwy. 104 No., Cedar Grove, TN, were interviewed and later formally charged.
Michael A. Stoltz and Mendy Faith Reese were charged with Theft of Property (motor vehicle) over $1000.00; Criminal Trespass; and Vandalism.
Upon further investigation in a separate incident, investigators also discovered that Michael A. Stoltz and Mendy Faith Reese did take a trailer from 221 Key Senter Road during mid-December 2013. They have also been charged Theft of Property over $500.00 for this incident.
Michael Stoltz and Mendy Reese appeared in General Sessions Court, Division I. Michael Stoltz’s bond was set at $15,000.
Mendy Reese’s bond was set at $10,000.00.
Their preliminary hearing has been scheduled for January 30, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. in General Sessions Court, Division I.
