Police Charge Man with Armed Robbery of Six Lane Students in Two Separate Attacks

 (November 25, 2013) Jackson TN –  Jackson police have charged a man in the armed robbery of six Lane College students in two separate attacks last week. 
 
Marcianno Brown, 22, of Jackson, was arraigned in Jackson City Court this morning on six counts of aggravated robbery and evading arrest. He is being held at the Madison County Jail on $200,000 bond. 
 
Brown's next scheduled court appearance is 1:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in Jackson City Court. 
 
Around 6:20 p.m. Nov.19, police were called to Harper Hall on Budde Street. Four students were approached by a man outside the dormitory. They were robbed at gunpoint of their money and cell phones. The robber was able to get away. 
 
Around 5:30 p.m. Nov. 21, two students were approached inside the gymnasium on Lane's campus at 545 Lane Avenue. The man was armed with a handgun and took both students' cell phones and a laptop computer. He put the items in a backpack and fled. 
 
Shortly afterward, officers spotted a man on Fite Lane who matched the robber's description. After a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended Marcianno Brown. 
 
Officers recovered a backpack that contained the two stolen cell phones, laptop and the handgun that was used. 
 
Brown was transported to the Madison County Jail. Investigators were able to determine that Brown committed both robberies
