Police Charge Teen with Car Theft and Aggravated Assault for Ramming Officer's Police Car 
 
 
(October 14, 2013), Jackson, TN – Jackson police have charged a 17-year-old boy with stealing a car and then ramming a police officer's car while trying to escape. 
 
Around 3:45 a.m. Monday, police were called about a silver Malibu that had just been stolen in the Lincoln Courts public housing complex. Responding officers saw a silver Malibu turn from Lincoln Circle onto Labelle Street. 
 
An officer got behind the car and activated his blue lights. The driver accelerated and struck another police officer's car while the officer was inside. The officer was not injured. 
 
Three to four males ran from the car and officers chased them. The driver was captured and identified as a 17-year-old boy. The other males escaped. 
 
The owner of the car was brought to the scene and identified the stolen car. 
 
The teen was transported to the Madison County Juvenile Detention. He faces charges of motor vehicle theft, aggravated assault on an officer, driving while unlicensed and evading arrest.
