PRESS RELEASE FROM CONGRESSMAN STEPHEN FINCHER
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Stephen Fincher (R-Frog Jump) released the following statement after sending a letter to Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader Cantor encouraging them to include H.R. 3126, the Health Care Fairness Act of 2013, in H.J. Res. 59, the Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2014, to stop Members of Congress from receiving special treatment in entering the health care exchanges.
“As long as Americans continue to suffer under the impact of Obamacare, no Member of Congress should receive special treatment or premium assistance that is unavailable to hard working Americans,” said Congressman Fincher. “While members of Congress may write the law, it does not mean they should live above the law.”
“Today, I sent a letter to Speaker Boehner and Leader Cantor encouraging them to include H.R. 3126, the Health Care Fairness Act of 2013, in the CR, to stop Members of Congress from receiving special treatment in entering the health care exchanges. If the American people are forced to live with Obamacare, so should every member of the House of Representatives, the Senate and the President. It’s that simple – Americans deserve fairness.”
