Tennova Healthcare has opened Tennova Walk-In Clinic and Tennova Primary Care at 1270 Union University Drive in Thomsen Farms.
Walk-In services will include care for minor illnesses and injuries – earaches, flu-like symptoms, sore throats and sinus infections, lacerations, sprains, skin rashes and urinary tract infections.
Diagnostic services including x-ray, EKG and laboratory will also be available on site.
No appointment is necessary. However, individuals will be able to call or schedule an appointment online for more general medical needs, such as sports physicals, immunizations and flu shots.
“Tennova Walk-In Clinic – Thomsen Farms will provide easy access to quick care for residents and visitors in north Jackson and neighboring Gibson county,” said Charles Miller, chief executive officer of Tennova Healthcare-Regional Jackson. “The walk-in clinic is designed to be a convenient option for children and adults when their primary care provider is not available.”
Located near Union University, the walk-in clinic features exam rooms, procedure rooms, and on-site diagnostic capabilities.
Its location is in proximity to several established and growing neighborhoods and retail complexes in the North Jackson area.
“Tennova’s walk-in clinic will be there to serve the community’s medical needs—conveniently and affordably—as walk-in visits are typically covered by health insurance in the same manner as a doctor’s office visit,” Miller said. “And, since the walk-in clinic is part of the regional healthcare network, patients will have the added peace-of-mind knowing that higher-level medical resources are available nearby, if additional tests or treatments are needed.”

The walk-in clinic will offer extended hours – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Monday through Saturday.
Tennova Primary Care is relocating to Thomsen Farms from 31 Physicians Drive, and will see patients from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
