UPDATE 11:19 PM

(July 18, 2013)  Jackson TN – I’m happy to report that power has now been restored to all of Gibson Electric Membership Corporation’s members who were affected by today’s outages.  We know how inconvenient lengthy outages are and we sincerely appreciate our members’ patience and understanding.  We also appreciate our employees’ dedication to serving our members well; they are truly the best! 

 

UPDATE 09:20 PM

(July 18, 2013) Jackson TN -Gibson Electric Membership Corporation crews are still working to restore service to members in the Bells area.  A total 1,150 members’ homes and businesses in Crockett and Gibson counties experienced outages this afternoon following the storm. 

The largest outage, affecting 955, occurred in the Bells area where a tree fell through a line and broke six poles at 3:01 p.m.  Crews rerouted service and restored power to 453 members at 4:44 p.m. and to another 446 members at 5:15 p.m.  They restored power to 44 more members at about 7:30 p.m.  About a dozen members are still without power, but crews are continuing to work and will restore service to these as quickly as possible. 

Another outage, affecting about 150 members east of Humboldt also began at 3:01 p.m.  Crews restored service to these members at about 4:35 p.m.

A third outage, affecting 43 members in the Gadsden community occurred at 3:45.  Crews restored service to these members at 4:50 p.m.

 

UPDATE 05:37 PM

(July 18, 2013) Jackson TN –  About 1,150 Gibson Electric Membership Corporation members’ homes and businesses in Crockett and Gibson counties have been affected by outages following this afternoon’s storms.  Crews were immediately dispatched and have been working to restore service as quickly as possible.

The largest outage, affecting 955, occurred in the Bells area where a tree fell through a line and broke six poles at 3:01 p.m.  Crews rerouted service and restored power to 453 members at 4:44 p.m. and to another 446 members at 5:15 p.m.  Unfortunately, for the 56 remaining members in the Bells area, the outage will be lengthy.  Replacing the six broken poles will be a time-intensive job.   

Another outage, affecting about 150 members east of Humboldt also began at 3:01 p.m.  Crews restored service to these members at about 4:35 p.m.

A third outage, affecting 43 members in the Gadsden community occurred at 3:45.  Crews restored service to these members at 4:50 p.m.
