(April 15,2014) JACKSON Tenn –
On 04/10/14, Special Agents with the Apprehension and Enforcement Unit of the Tennessee Department of Corrections contacted and informed Jackson-Madison Metro Narcotics Investigators that they located a fugitive James Avery at 318 Bellevue. James Avery had a warrant for parole violation that was issued on April 7, 2014. The Special Agents advised they had also located approximately 1.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine on his person. Metro Narcotics Investigators arrived at 318 Bellevue to assist the Special Agents while they conducted a parole search of Avery’s residence. During the parole search Special Agents and Metro Narcotics Investigators located drug paraphernalia, ammunition and ephedrine in Avery’s residence located at 318 Bellevue. Metro Narcotics Investigators also located a stolen 4-wheeler in the bed of Avery’s truck that was stolen from Hardeman county
While at 318 Bellevue Metro Narcotics Investigators determined that James Wilson was on State parole and that he had a failure to comply warrant issued by Madison County General Session on May 21, 2013. Metro Narcotics Investigators arrested Wilson and located approximately 11.1 grams of crystal methamphetamine on the couch beside him. Investigators also saw a holster and ammunition in the office area where he was arrested. All occupants were prohibited from owning are being around firearms and ammunition because they are convicted felons. Metro Narcotics Investigators then applied for a search warrant to search 318 Bellevue and a search warrant was signed by a Judge to search the building. During the search Metro Narcotics Investigators located approximately 22.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a shotgun, digital scales and baggies.
James Wilson, age 35, of 25 Shirlee Drive in Jackson is being charged with Possession of Schedule II with intent to resale and Possession of Marijuana with intent to resale.
James Avery, age 44, of 318 Bellevue Street in Jackson is being charged with Possession of methamphetamine with intent, Initiation of methamphetamine, simple possession of marijuana, Possession of stolen property over $1,000, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Possession of firearm during a dangerous felony, Possession of drug paraphernalia
