
UPDATE, 10:56AM: Two are dead after a Wednesday night home invasion, confirms Captain Tyreece Miller, head of the Criminal Investigation Division, Jackson Police Department.
Multiple sources including Arkansas State University confirm that Markel Owens, age 21, was one of the fatalities in Wednesday night's shooting on Walker Rd.
Owens was a Defensive Lineman for ASU. He attended Liberty Technology Magnet High School.
Police responded to the 700 block of Walker Road after a 911 shots fired call at approximately 9:30PM on Wednesday night.
Three gunshot victims were transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Witnesses described two suspects, wearing all black and masks, running from the area.
A white Honda Civic was also seen leaving the area but it is not known if the car is connected.
One of the shooters was possibly injured and area hospitals are on alert.
The police are still investigating the incident.
